Project Spotlight: A Fresh New Entrance for The Parc HOA in Hammond

At Legacy Landscape Group, we love helping communities create welcoming, polished outdoor spaces that leave a lasting first impression. Our recent project with The Parc HOA in Hammond was all about transforming their entrance into an elegant, low-maintenance landscape that complements the neighborhood’s charm.

The Vision

The HOA wanted a clean, attractive, and easily maintained landscape bed to enhance the look of their entrance year-round. The goal was simple: create something that feels refined, inviting, and durable without requiring constant upkeep.

The Challenges

This project came with a few unique hurdles:

• Navigating Utility Lines: With underground utilities running through the area, careful planning and safe digging were essential.
• Massive Cleanup: The existing beds were overgrown and packed with debris. In total, we removed and disposed of 30 yards of plant material—a huge step in giving the entrance a fresh start.

The Process

With the area cleared, we began rebuilding the space:

• Bed Enhancement: We brought in high-quality garden soil to raise and define the beds, giving the entrance cleaner lines and better plant performance.
• Thoughtful Plant Selection: To achieve a low-maintenance yet elegant look, we installed Dwarf Burford Hollies, Eagleston Holly Tree, and Hardy Daylilies—all chosen for their evergreen beauty, resilience, and minimal upkeep.
• Natural Pine Straw Mulch: We finished with a layer of pine straw, selected not only for its clean, natural appearance but also its cost-effectiveness and ability to suppress weeds and regulate soil moisture.

The Transformation

The entrance to The Parc HOA now features a refined, evergreen landscape that feels intentional, polished, and welcoming. The new design brings structure and year-round appeal while staying within the community’s low-maintenance goals.
